Important Peamble to this Webpage:

You won't see this on most websites but I believe it is critical. There are two fundamentally important issues when promoting any business. First are the products any good? Do they do what they say they do? How do I know what your saying is true? There are all kinds of health and wellness products on the web and elsewhere that promise you the moon and stars. It is very difficult to decide what is true and false or what is almost true. The facts often get confused with opinions which are simply just opinions.

At Immunotec, there is a saying that    " documentation beats conversation"

Simply put, it means opinions and personal testimonials are great but they can be trumped by products that have the medical facts to support their validity.

This is the key difference between Immunotec and Immunocal and ALL the other wellness products out there.

As a health and wellness consumer, it is comforting to know that the products you are buying actually work.

As a health and wellness entrepreneur, it's very re-assuring to know you are promoting a company that has done it's homework and offers products that are proven to work.

As an online entrepreneur, it should be really important that the products and companies you promote are really credible because your credibility (my credibility) is at stake too.

That ultimately is the bottom line. Next to good health, personal credibility is everything.

What is Health and Wellness?

Health and wellness is more than just simply the absence of disease. It is a goal and a positive attitude towards your own personal health. It's about prevention. The best way to prevent many winter road accidents resulting in intense and expensive medical care is using more salt on the roads. It is proactive not reactive. Sickness is what happens to you, wellness is something you seek out. You don't volunteer to admitted to the health care system but you do volunteer to be health and wellness oriented. Health and wellness people are committed to learning about their health and caring about what they eat and how they spend their time. While they might catch a movie and imitate a couch potato, they might also preface the movie with a half hour walk or run.

Much of what we seek in wellness is available free: a walk in the park, drinking plenty of water, maintaining a positive attitude and caring about others. Unfortunately, maintaining wellness is not all free. Commitment to wellness can cost you extra such as buying organic food, drinking filtered water, taking certain supplements, and possibly buying equipment or memberships for your favourite sports or activities.

To the non health and wellness person who drinks and smokes, all this health and wellness stuff is a waste of money. To the health and wellness person, any time, effort or money spent on improving their health is worth it. This wellness thinking is having a real effect in the market place as witnessed by the number of new wellness oriented businesses you see sprouting up everywhere.

Immunocal and Immunotec are Leaders in Health and Wellness

Health and wellness is essentially about maintaining vibrant health by acting pro actively in maintaining your physical and spiritual being. It is about prevention and maintaining your immune system because this is our only line of defense against millions of pathogens. In its creation of Immunocal and Immunocal Platinum, Immunotec has become the market leader in the immune segment of the health and wellness arena. Immunocal boosts our immune system by raising our glutathione levels. Since glutathione is the body's own master anti oxidant this is very important but not well known information. This makes the Immunotec-Immunocal opportunity so compelling for those really into real health and wellness at the nutritional level.

Immunotec and Immunocal have been under development for many years. The original research with Immunocal was initiated over 30 years ago. Only after world wide method of use patents had been obtained, and clinical studies done, did Immunotec open its doors in 1998 to offer Immunocal to the world. Immunocal was developed through the scientific efforts of Dr Gustav Bounous who later became head of research at Immunotec. Now retired, his position has been filled by Dr Wulf Droge, who subsequently developed Immunocal Platinum for Immunotec.

Health and Wellness Movement- A Brief History

Dr. Halbert Dunn. As a founding father of the “wellness movement”, Dr. Dunn referred to the human body and its millions of cells as “organized energy”. And his original book was a collection of 29 short discussions on the key aspects of health and wellness. The movement had started.

His original definition of health and wellness was “an integrated method of functioning which is oriented to maximizing the potential of which an individual is capable, within the environment where he is functioning.”

The term health and wellness for today’s individual is still multifaceted - embracing health on every level. By way of awareness and practice, wellness entails the conscious development of the whole self.

The Berkeley Wellness Letter breaks the Health and Wellness Movement down to 3 components:

1. Fitness
2. Nutrition
3. Longevity

Health and wellness continues to convey different meanings to different people - depending on their lifestyles, ailments, and health priorities. A definition pulled from the dictionary suggests that “wellness is the condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet and exercise.” This refers to the state of your mind as well as your body - as the two are interdependent.

If we dig deeper, we find that the definition is shifting towards a trend; the “wellness movement” that refers to the shift in people’s attitudes as a means to healthy living.

This trend began a little over a decade ago. A major cultural shift took place with respect to people’s attitudes and behaviors towards their health and wellness. Individuals adopted a pro-active approach in an effort to sustain their health and maintain their state of wellness, by way of a deliberate and conscious effort to prevent health complications. They not only seek to cure existing health ailments, they want to avert them altogether. More individuals today adhere to a lifestyle that is associated with the maintenance of good health. They want a better quality of life; in essence, they want to feel better, look better, and live longer… total wellness!

So while this and most other “modern” definitions include health for the body and mind; it is equally important to note the intertwining of the two. The literature strongly emphasizes this holistic approach; meaning that if health is lacking in one, the other suffers, and so does overall wellness.

This shift in attitude has not only captured the attention of individuals, but many healthcare professionals as well, as they too have adopted a holistic approach. They no longer treat a disease or illness in isolation, but treat the person and consider all factors that contribute to a patient’s health.
